Terms of Service

1. Who we are

RoleDawn is an independent software product operated by an independent developer ("RoleDawn", "we", "us"). These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the RoleDawn website at https://roledawn.com, the dashboard, email and Slack digests, CSV exports and any related services (together, the "Service").

The only official support channel is our contact form at https://roledawn.com/contact.

2. Accepting these Terms

By creating an account, starting a free trial, subscribing, or otherwise using the Service, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy and Refund Policy. If you use the Service on behalf of a company or other organization, you confirm that you are authorized to accept these Terms on its behalf, and "you" refers to that organization. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

You must be at least 18 years old and able to form a binding contract to use the Service. The Service is intended for business use.

3. The Service

RoleDawn monitors job postings that companies publish publicly on applicant tracking system (ATS) job boards, such as Greenhouse, Lever, Ashby, Workable, SmartRecruiters, Recruitee and Workday, and derives hiring signals from them — for example, a company appearing to hire for a role family for the first time ("first-hire" signals) or a sharp increase in postings for a role family ("surge" signals).

We do not scrape LinkedIn and we do not sell or provide personal contact data. We may add, change or remove features, data sources or role families over time.

4. Accounts

You sign in with a one-time link sent to your email address. You are responsible for keeping access to that email account secure and for all activity under your account. Tell us promptly via https://roledawn.com/contact if you believe your account has been accessed without authorization. You must provide an accurate email address that you control.

5. Subscriptions, trials and payment

• Merchant of Record. Payments are processed by Dodo Payments, which acts as our Merchant of Record. Dodo Payments is the seller of record for your purchase and handles payment processing, invoicing, and the calculation, collection and remittance of applicable sales tax, VAT or GST. Your payment details are entered on Dodo Payments' checkout and are never received or stored by us. Dodo Payments' own terms and privacy policy also apply to the payment transaction.
• Free trial. New accounts get a 14-day free trial with Pro features. No payment card is required to start the trial, and you are not charged anything before the trial ends. When the trial ends, alerts pause unless you choose a paid plan.
• Monthly plans and automatic renewal. Paid plans are billed monthly in advance. Your subscription renews automatically at the end of each monthly billing period at the then-current price for your plan, and the payment method you provided is charged, until you cancel.
• Cancellation. You can cancel at any time from the billing section of your dashboard (or by contacting us via https://roledawn.com/contact). Cancellation stops future renewals; you keep access until the end of the billing period you have already paid for.
• Refunds. Refunds are governed by our Refund Policy: a full refund is available within 14 days of your first payment.
• Price changes. We may change plan prices. Any change applies from your next billing period after we give you reasonable advance notice by email, and you can cancel before it takes effect.
• Taxes. Prices shown may exclude taxes; any applicable taxes are calculated and shown at checkout by Dodo Payments.

6. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• use the Service, or any information obtained from it, in violation of any applicable law, including anti-spam, privacy, data-protection and anti-discrimination laws;
• use signals to make decisions about individual people's eligibility for employment, credit, insurance or housing;
• resell, sublicense, or publicly redistribute the Service or bulk exports of its data as a competing dataset, except as permitted by your plan for your internal business use;
• scrape, crawl or systematically download the Service beyond normal use of the dashboard and exports, or attempt to circumvent plan limits, rate limits or access controls;
• probe, scan or test the vulnerability of the Service, interfere with its operation, or introduce malware;
• share your account with people outside your organization, or impersonate another person or organization;
• submit unlawful, abusive or infringing content through the contact form or Slack integrations.

We may suspend or terminate access for violations of this section.

7. Data and intellectual property

Job postings remain the property of the companies that published them; RoleDawn links to the original postings. The Service itself — software, design, classifications, signal definitions and compilations — is owned by the operator of RoleDawn and protected by intellectual property laws. Subject to these Terms and an active trial or subscription, you receive a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the Service and its exports for your internal business purposes.

You keep ownership of the content you provide (such as monitor settings). You grant us a limited licence to use it solely to operate and improve the Service.

8. Disclaimer — signals are informational only

Hiring signals are generated automatically from public job postings using heuristics and classification rules. They are for informational purposes only and may be incomplete, delayed, misclassified or inaccurate — for example, a "first hire" may reflect a role that existed before our data history, a re-posting, or a classification error. Signals are not a statement by any company and are not financial, investment, legal or employment advice. You are solely responsible for how you use them, including any outreach you make.

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE", WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, ACCURACY AND NON-INFRINGEMENT, TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW. We do not guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any data source will remain available.

9. Limitation of liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW: (a) RoleDawn AND ITS OPERATOR WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, REVENUE, BUSINESS OPPORTUNITY, GOODWILL OR DATA, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO THE SERVICE; AND (b) OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ALL CLAIMS RELATING TO THE SERVICE IS LIMITED TO THE AMOUNT YOU PAID FOR THE SERVICE IN THE THREE (3) MONTHS BEFORE THE EVENT GIVING RISE TO THE CLAIM, OR USD 50 IF YOU HAVE NOT PAID ANYTHING.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law, including any mandatory consumer rights.

10. Indemnity

To the extent permitted by law, you agree to indemnify and hold harmless RoleDawn and its operator from claims, losses and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your misuse of the Service or your violation of these Terms or applicable law.

11. Suspension and termination

You may stop using the Service and cancel at any time. You can ask us to delete your account via https://roledawn.com/contact. We may suspend or terminate your access if you materially breach these Terms, if required by law, or if we discontinue the Service; if we discontinue the Service without cause, we will refund any prepaid fees for the unused part of the current billing period. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (including 7–10 and 13) survive.

12. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will post the updated version on this page and change the "Last updated" date. If a change is material, we will give reasonable advance notice by email or in the dashboard. Continuing to use the Service after a change takes effect means you accept the updated Terms; if you do not agree, you can cancel before it takes effect.

13. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws applicable at the operator's place of residence, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, except where mandatory law of your place of residence (for example, consumer protection law) provides otherwise. Before starting any formal proceeding, please contact us via https://roledawn.com/contact so we can try to resolve the issue informally.

14. Miscellaneous

These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy and Refund Policy, are the entire agreement between you and us regarding the Service. If any provision is found unenforceable, the rest remains in effect. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. You may not assign these Terms without our consent; we may assign them in connection with a transfer of the Service.
